This guide explains every setting in the character creator.
#Who they are
Start with the basics:
- Name — what you call them.
- Description — who they are. This is the foundation the rest of the character is built on; the richer the description, the more grounded and consistent the character.
You can also pick a gender, or leave it on automatic and let the creator infer it from the description.
#Personality (HEXACO)
Six trait sliders shape how your character thinks and speaks. Each runs from low to high; hover the question-mark next to any trait in the creator for the same guidance.
#Relationship mode
Sets the character's behavioral boundaries and interaction style.
#Voice
Choose a text-to-speech voice. It affects the character's spoken tone and cadence when you have voice replies enabled.
#Memory
When memory sharing is on, the character carries memories across all of your sessions with them — so they remember earlier conversations instead of starting fresh each time.
#Content policy
The maturity ceiling for the character. Your account plan caps how high you can set it.
#Tone & style
Fine-tune the voice with three sliders — Humor, Warmth, and Formality — plus optional free-text fields:
- Style inspiration — a reference for the kind of voice you want.
- Custom instructions — specific guidance the character should follow.
#Avatar
- Generate avatar — creates a portrait for your character. On by default.
- Generate all moods — also builds a full expression sheet (different facial expressions). Available on Plus and up; free accounts get the neutral portrait.
#Publishing
Choose Private (only you) or Public (listed in the character catalog). You can change this later.
