#Open Wildweave

Open Wildweave from the app navigation or go to /app/wildweave. The hub shows your recent documents, search, filters, sort controls, and starter cards.

Wildweave is free for everyone, and every document type is free to create — drafts, outlines, notes, books, screenplays, and storyboards. Guests can keep 5 documents and free accounts 20; paid plans unlock an unlimited library, folders to organize it, and print-ready PDF export, and add monthly credits. AI assist and panel images spend the same credits used by other wilds.ai generation features.

#Choose a document type

• Draft: free-form prose with a live outline.
• Outline: planning notes, beats, sections, and structure.
• Note: quick worldbuilding, scene notes, and scratch material.
• Book: a binder with chapters, word counts, storyboards, and whole-book export.
• Screenplay: US-format screenplay editing with Fountain export.
• Storyboard: panel cards with shot type, caption, dialogue, and generated images.

Use New storyboard to block comic or graphic novel sequences. Storyboards block the sequence, generate panels, and export a contact sheet while the fuller graphic-novel page editor continues to grow. Storyboards are paged — grids, splashes, and spreads — and a screenplay can generate its boards in one click; add a caption to any panel you want to animate. Click Letter on any panel to place, size, and tail its balloons over the art; the lettering prints on the contact sheet.

#The desk on desktop and mobile

On desktop, Wildweave uses three columns:

• Structure on the left: outline for drafts, or the book binder for books.
• Write in the center: title, toolbar, source view, editor, screenplay surface, or storyboard grid.
• World on the right: two views plus writing assist. Cast holds the world link, setting summary, and ask-a-character panel. Codex is your reference shelf — every note you've written, plus the linked world's lore book and dynamic lore entries when a world is linked, searchable by title and readable without leaving the page. Entries players haven't discovered yet are marked, and any note opens in one click. Tone, model quality, and writing assist sit below both views. Check canon reads your document against your notes and linked world and lists any contradictions, each with a one-click rewrite.

On phones, the structure and world columns become slide-over drawers — opened one at a time from the desk header — and both start closed so the writing surface is never buried under side panels.

#Link a world

Open the World section and choose one of your compiled worlds. Wildweave uses that world for:

• setting summary beside the manuscript
• character names and roles
• "Ask a character" answers
• storyboard art style
• hosted character portrait references when a panel mentions a character by name

Books pass their linked world down to chapters and storyboards. Link the book once, then chapters and boards inherit it.

#Ask a character

After linking a world, choose a character and ask what they would do, say, notice, or fear in the current scene. The answer appears as a proposal. You can insert it into a prose document if it belongs in the draft.

Use character questions for scene logic and voice checks:

• "What would Mira hide here?"
• "How would Talon describe the observatory?"
• "What would this character refuse to admit?"

The character panel is not a replacement for your writing. It is a reference beside the manuscript.

#Use writing assist

The assist panel proposes text, but it does not change your manuscript until you accept it.

Available actions:

• Continue: extend from the current ending.
• Rewrite selection: rephrase highlighted prose.
• Expand selection: add texture and detail to highlighted prose.
• Condense selection: tighten highlighted prose.
• Draft from title: generate a starting passage from the document title.

Pick a tone preset or write a custom tone note. Paid plans can use stronger model tiers when available; lower plans are clamped to their included tier.

#Books and chapters

Create a Book when your project has multiple chapters or companion storyboards.

Inside a book:

1. Add chapters from the binder.
2. Reorder chapters with the move buttons.
3. Add storyboards for key sequences.
4. Export the whole manuscript as Markdown.
5. Export PDF when your plan includes PDF export.

The book page itself works as front matter. Chapters stay as separate documents, which keeps long projects faster to open and easier to organize.

#Screenplays

Screenplay documents use industry-standard elements:

• Scene
• Action
• Character
• Parenthetical
• Dialogue
• Transition

Use Tab to cycle elements and Enter to advance in the usual screenplay rhythm. Export Fountain on any plan. PDF screenplay export is available when your plan includes PDF export.

#Storyboards

Storyboards are panel grids. Each panel has:

• shot type
• caption
• dialogue or voiceover
• generated image slot

Panel images use the linked world's art direction. When the caption or dialogue names a linked-world character and that character has a hosted portrait or avatar image, Wildweave passes that image as a visual reference so the panel can stay more consistent.

Use Generate all only after captions are stable. Each generated image spends credits.

#Exports and privacy

Wildweave documents are private to your account. There is no public feed for your manuscript. Export when you want a copy outside the studio:

• Markdown for prose documents and books
• Plain text for prose and storyboards
• Fountain for screenplays
• PDF for books, manuscripts, screenplays, and storyboard contact sheets when your plan includes PDF export

If a browser blocks a PDF print window, allow pop-ups for wilds.ai and try the export again.
