• Pelican Lagoon Mail Station

  A sheltered turquoise lagoon ringed by palms, with a creaking wooden jetty, a fuel-drum shed, and a corrugated mail office where the bag is sealed and the sortie begins. The last safe water before the cinder islands, painted in cream and vermilion by a sun that is always about to set.

• Cinder Cone Reach

  A chain of steep black volcanic cones breathing sulphur smoke, with razor ridgelines that snatch the hull of any pilot who dives too low. Pirate floatplanes climb out of hidden slopes here, so every crater rim is an ambush.

• Blackstrand Beach

  A long crescent of volcanic black sand where the first pirate hauls its floatplane off the shore two hundred metres from the lagoon mouth. Wrecked fuselages, rusted drums, and gull-winged silhouettes litter the tide line.

• Gilded Dusk Corridor

  An open stretch of sky and sea between the islands, banked with gold dusk clouds and scattered flak-scarred rock stacks. It is the main killing ground of the dogfights, with room to climb, roll, and shake a pirate off your tail.

• Gullrock Roost

  A hollowed-out sea-stack riddled with caves and plank landings, the pirates' hidden rookery. Black floatplanes are refuelled, repainted, and rearmed here, and stolen mail bags are cracked open on a driftwood table.
