#Get your link
Your link is shaped wilds.ai/r/<your-code>. The default code matches your username; if a staff campaign code or another user already holds that slug, you get the same code with a short random suffix appended. The code is locked at signup and never changes, even if you rename your account, so old shares keep working.
Find your link two places:
- /app/account/refer — full dashboard with conversion counters and the share-button row (Twitter, Discord, Reddit, WhatsApp, Telegram, iMessage, email).
- /app/settings/notifications — the Referrals section shows the link inline next to the notification toggles.
The short URL is the social-share-friendly form. The query-param form (https://wilds.ai/?ref=<your-code>) also works for anywhere a short URL gets rewritten or stripped.
#How the credit bonuses work
Two bonuses fire automatically. You don't need to claim anything.
- 250 credits when they verify. The moment a referred friend clicks the verification link in their welcome email, 250 credits land in your account's reward ledger. You get an in-app inbox notification and an email (the email is opt-out — see Settings → Notifications → Referrals).
- 500 credits when they upgrade. If the same friend upgrades from free to Plus, Pro, or Forge within 90 days of signing up, you earn another 500 credits. Same in-app + email notification.
Both grants record an audit row in your conversion ledger at /app/account/refer so you can see exactly which friend triggered which credit.
#How the anti-fraud caps work
Three guards run on every conversion to keep the program clean.
- 20 conversions per day per referrer. Excess attempts log silently and don't credit. If you legitimately hit the cap, the dashboard shows your remaining budget for the day.
- 500 conversions lifetime before staff review. Hitting this is rare and usually means you're running a real partnership, in which case staff unlocks the cap manually.
- Per-conversion checks: self-referral, disposable email domains, account-age-under-24-hours, and IP/device-fingerprint overlap all block the credit. The dashboard shows which checks blocked any blocked attempt, so a legitimate dispute is easy to escalate.
The caps are gentle on purpose. The point is to stop one person from running 10,000 throwaway accounts, not to stop you from getting a bunch of friends to join in one day.
#Stack referrals with earnings from plays
Referrals are one of four ways every account earns credits on wilds.ai. The full earning ladder (see the creator economy guide for the rest):
| Source | Free | Plus | Pro | Forge |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Refer friends (250 + 500 cr each) | yes | yes | yes | yes |
| Earn from plays (per audience-day) | 0.2 cr | 0.3 cr | 0.4 cr | 0.5 cr |
| Publish worlds to the catalog | no | yes | yes | yes |
Earned credits work exactly like purchased credits. Spend them anywhere on the platform: building more worlds, generating assets, premium models, voice, and playing. Forge's 2.5x rate just fills your balance fastest. (Free-tier earning is a beta policy and may change after beta.)
#Turn referral emails off
The referral email fires once per conversion. If you'd rather just see the in-app inbox notification, flip the toggle off at /app/settings/notifications#referrals. The email also includes a one-click unsubscribe footer that flips the same toggle. The in-app inbox stays on regardless — it's how the conversion shows up on the dashboard.
The audit row in your conversion ledger writes whether email or in-app fired, so if either fan-out fails the dashboard still reflects the truth.
#Where to share
You don't have to share the bare link. Tap the share button on any world, character, or creator profile and your ?ref= code rides along automatically, so a world you loved (yours or someone else's) becomes a referral too. The creator keeps earning from plays; you earn when a new player joins through your link.
The link is yours; share anywhere. Some surfaces convert better than others.
- Niche subreddits (r/AIDungeon, r/CRPG, r/CharacterAI alternatives, r/rpg, r/playmygame). Mention the world or character you built first; the referral is the payoff.
- Discord servers for tabletop, AI roleplay, or game dev. Direct DMs convert higher than channel drops because the context is personal.
- Your existing audience if you stream, blog, or post on social. The 250+500 stack is enough that a single follower who upgrades pays for ~30 Oracle turns of your own creation.
The platform's share buttons handle the URL formatting per network so nothing gets stripped by social-media URL-rewriters.
#Watch your dashboard
Every conversion shows up at /app/account/refer with the friend's display name, conversion type (joined vs. upgraded), credits awarded, and date. The page also shows your remaining cap for the day, lifetime totals, and a button to copy your share link.
Top referrers also appear on the public /creators leaderboard, sorted by 30-day conversion count. The widget self-hides for accounts with zero conversions, so building up a streak unlocks discoverability for free.
