Character settings

The full character settings from chat — personality, memory, voice, relationship, avatar and outfits, chat mode, response length, your custom instructions, and the AI model — apply to Tagalong sessions with that character too. Pick a character to view or change theirs. The conversation Roleplay mode is per-conversation and lives in the chat itself.

Tagalong preferences

Account-level defaults for every new watch session: surfaces where watching auto-pauses, how much of your screen the character may read, and an optional always-on mode. Each session can still override these at start.

Per-session choices

Tagalong is configured per session, not globally: each time you start watching you pick the character, the reaction engine (Balanced or Turbo), whether the session is remembered in the character's memory, and whether to save highlight moments. Nothing carries over unless you opt in.

Privacy

Your shared screen is analyzed in real time to let the character react. Frames are never stored unless you opt into memory or highlights, and every session starts with an explicit consent step. Stream connections on the Stream tab are account-level grants you can disconnect at any time.

Desktop app

The desktop app adds an always-on-top overlay for the character's reactions plus global hotkeys while you play full-screen games. It is in development; Tagalong in the browser has every capability today except the overlay window.
