Wilds.ai Cookie Policy
Effective Date: April 11, 2026
What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. Wilds also uses browser storage such as localStorage for some preferences and analytics state.
Essential Cookies
These are required for core site behavior and cannot be switched off from the cookie banner.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
wilds-consent | Stores your consent preferences | Up to 1 year |
wilds_auth_token | Authenticates signed-in sessions | Session / auth lifetime |
wilds_guest_id | Preserves guest identity and guest-owned content before signup | Up to 30 days of inactivity |
Analytics Storage
Analytics storage is optional and only used when you grant analytics consent.
If your browser sends Global Privacy Control (GPC), Wilds treats that as an override and keeps optional browser analytics off while the signal is active.
Default analytics provider
Wilds currently uses PostHog as the default browser analytics provider. PostHog may use first-party cookies and local storage identifiers, including project-scoped ph_* keys, to understand returning visits, session continuity, and consent state.
Wilds configures PostHog for:
- manual pageviews
- named events only
- masked session recordings
- disabled autocapture
This cookie/storage control applies directly to browser analytics and also drives guest server-side interaction analytics once the guest consent decision is synced to Wilds' backend. It does not control authenticated account-level product analytics or research/data-licensing participation, which are managed separately in Settings > Privacy, Stats & Data Use.
Optional legacy analytics providers
In limited legacy deployments, Wilds may also enable one or more of the following after analytics consent:
| Storage | Purpose | Provider |
|---|---|---|
_ga, _ga_* | Distinguish visitors and session state | Google Analytics 4 |
_clck, _clsk | Session replay and visit continuity | Microsoft Clarity |
Plausible is cookie-free when enabled.
What We Do Not Use
- No marketing ad-tech cookies are enabled by default.
- We do not use optional analytics cookies unless you grant consent.
Managing Your Preferences
You can change your preferences at any time:
- click Cookie Settings in the footer
- use the cookie banner
- use Settings > Tracking & Consent for browser analytics cookies/storage
- browser-level Global Privacy Control overrides optional browser analytics while active
- guest server-side analytics follow that browser analytics choice after consent sync
- use Settings > Privacy, Stats & Data Use for account-level product analytics and research/data-licensing participation
- clear site cookies in your browser
- contact team@wilds.ai for privacy requests
