What is wilds.ai?

wilds.ai is an AI-native platform for creating and playing interactive game worlds. Type a prompt like "a haunted space station where sanity is your most precious resource" and the AI generates:

• World structure: regions, locations, and environmental details
• NPCs and factions: characters with HEXACO personalities [1] and agendas
• Combat mechanics: turn-based or narrative, with dice rolls and action tables
• Items and inventory: weapons, armor, consumables, crafting recipes, and loot tables
• Cover art: AI-generated artwork for every world
• AI companions: characters that remember you, shift mood, and evolve through your relationship. Chat one-on-one or in group conversations where multiple companions interact with each other and with you.

Then you play it. Instantly. Solo or with a party of companions. With text, voice chat, or even camera-based input for physical games like boxing training.

AI Companions That Remember You

Every world can include AI companions with their own personality, mood, and memory. They're built on the HEXACO personality model [1] and a PAD emotional framework, which means they don't just respond to what you say. They feel it.

Trust builds over time. Secrets unlock at high trust levels. Mood shifts based on your interactions and naturally decays between sessions. Each companion is unique, and they remember your shared history. Their portrait changes as they feel. 8 expression variants (happy, sad, angry, afraid, thinking, flirty, hurt, neutral) cross-fade in real-time based on the emotional state of the conversation.

Create group chats with up to 8 companions. They develop opinions of each other, share GIFs and images, search the web, and react to what the others say. Then bring that whole party into a game session and they become your adventuring group, each with a combat role shaped by their personality.

The memory system uses 9 neuroscience-backed cognitive mechanisms including Ebbinghaus decay curves [3], emotional tagging, persona drift, and write-ahead archives that preserve every detail. Full technical breakdown in How wilds.ai Memory Works.

Bring Yourself In

You bring your own identity into every session through personas. Save multiple player profiles, each with its own name, pronouns, bio, and appearance description. Switch between them per session depending on the story you want to tell: a stoic knight for one campaign, a sarcastic rogue for another, a shy student for a dating sim.

The active persona flows into companion chat and narrator prompts automatically. Companions address you by your chosen name and use your pronouns consistently. The narrator describes your character accurately in prose and uses your appearance for scene illustrations. One account, many selves.

Customize Every Field

The AI-generated world is a starting point. The Creator Studio is a full editor with 28+ panels covering every field in your world: lore, regions, NPCs with HEXACO personality and relationships, scenes with authored background images, dynamic lore with trigger conditions, cross-region puzzle chains, objectives with DAG prerequisites, branching endings, merchants, title screens with composable visual effects, dialogue systems, tutorials, hint policies, and per-family panels for visual novels (character expression sets, route graphs, audio direction). Every panel autosaves as you type. Authored content (scene backgrounds, NPC portraits, lore entries) flows directly into gameplay without re-running the AI, so your edits take effect immediately and don't cost extra credits.

Publish your world and two toggles control what happens next. Live editing is on by default. When you push an update, active player sessions pick it up on their next turn. Players see a "Live world" badge and a toast notification. Turn it off to lock published versions immutable. Allow cloning lets players fork your world into their own editable copy with full attribution back to you. Forks carry the complete blueprint and become independent drafts. Players in a live-editable world can also pin their session to a specific revision so creator updates don't affect their ongoing campaign.
